New Portrait style

This is an interesting view of a portrait. I like this concept of bringing many individuals to create one face, one Identity.  Looking for another way to use the human figure this concept might work with bringing everybody onto one level.

Portraits: Colors and Layout

I have been very fond of portraits. Easily a way to capture the spirit or soul of another.

In some of my other classes and work I have been experimenting with color, I found this portrait artist in some of my research. playing with the color, seems more of value and temperature to accentuate the face.

The concept of movement is introduced very well here...

The figures are quite beautiful. I personally want to work with the human figure, to establish the fragility and stability of reality.

Homework turned Muse

http://www.pbs.org/art21/watch-now/segment-ann-hamilton-in-spirituality

I had to watch this segment for my Alternative Media class.  Now don't get me wrong the video was a great insight to Hamilton's pieces, but i was more intrigued with the soapy water that was introduce more towards the end of the video.  In my own work I am thinking of the idea of the human body, which is usually perceived as more indestructible and mend able, being more fragile. Most people don't see ourselves as fragile beings, and that thin stream of water that can form shape and flow, was still able to be broken.  The whole concept of the water was very intriguing to me in how they used it.
